Laurie Baker was born and educated in England, but spent almost all of his working life in India.
His focus was on low-cost housing, but other building types benefitted from Baker Architecture.
This was as much about techniques, materials and a method of building as it was about style although his buildings are themselves inspiring.
He was a truly remarkable man, and his influence is still so strong today.
